Maat files a complaint to the Attorney General against Al-Sabah newspaper and its officials
Maat: The unethical practices that are issued by some members of the profession of journalism do not express the whole of the press

 

Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights filed a complaint to the Attorney General this morning against the Chairman, Editor-in-Chief and one of the editors of Al-Sabah Newspaper, where he wrote the communication with the number 10512 contained in 10/8/2016 petitions of the Attorney General.
On August 8, Al-Sabah newspaper published an article on its website under the deceptive title “Millionaires of Civil Society,” during which the newspaper and the editor made false accusations that were not based on any evidence for a number of Egyptian civil society organization officials, and repeated a sender's speech exposing ignorance and superficiality, saying about These organizations and their officials obtained astronomical numbers of millions, in addition to the blatant and implicit accusations of these organizations and their officials.
The Maat Foundation considers that such unethical practices issued by some members of the profession of journalism do not reflect at all from the whole of the journalistic home, and affirming that the newspaper that published the topic and the editor who drafted its fabricated parts suffer from a lack of professionalism and do not have the minimum values that regulate journalistic work Based on telling facts and enlightening public opinion, the Foundation calls on the well-established Egyptian Journalists Syndicate to activate journalistic honor codes to put an end to such irresponsible and unethical behavior, and to achieve union deterrence for the perpetrators.
Maat Foundation has been keen to take a judicial position against the newspaper and its officials and the editor of the investigation based on its belief in the rule of law, preserving its constitutional right to litigation and remedy, and consolidating the principle of responsibility, and the Foundation affirms that it will address all the legal chapters that would apply the deterrent penalty to those accustomed to defaming organizations National civil society is challenging its reputation for completely immoral and non-patriotic purposes.
