Maat warns of the deteriorating conditions of the displaced in northern Cameroon

Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights is concerned about the deteriorating security situation in the north of # Cameroon, which has forced thousands of # IDPs to flee the armed operations that have occurred in an area with a large number of displaced people in the north of the country.

Maat Foundation denounces the repetition of this # armed attack on the areas of residence of these displaced persons, which led to the flight of thousands without alternative shelter. The loss of # a month ago killed 18 people and injured 15 others in Nguichai, near the border with Nigeria, while seven were killed and injured 14 days last week, when militants targeted Goldavi village, which is also housing displaced persons.

The Maat Foundation calls for providing the largest amount of logistical and health assistance to them, especially after their recent deterioration. The Foundation stresses the need to protect these displaced persons from armed groups, with a focus on the most affected groups of # women and # children, in compliance with the provisions of the # Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement.
