The election campaign for Maat begins with a meeting with Alexandria organizations

Under the slogan "The Second Beginning", the Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights is running for the second consecutive term of the Egyptian National Network for the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures.

Maat had been elected president of the Egyptian Network - which includes 182 Egyptian organizations - by an overwhelming majority in June 2013, ending its first term in June 2015, and the Foundation has nominated itself for a second presidential term beginning in June 2015 and ending in June 2017, where the elections for the presidency of the Egyptian National Network will take place. It is worth noting that the Anna Lindh Foundation, which works in 42 countries covering the European and southern Mediterranean region, and Egypt hosts its headquarters in the Library of Alexandria and the Swedish Institute, is an international institution concerned with promoting dialogue of cultures in this region through a network of civil society organizations in each country, and includes networks The 42nd of the Anna Lindh Foundation has 4,000 civil society organizations.

Maat launched its election campaign 2015 with a meeting with member organizations in Alexandria Governorate, which was held in the third sail hall of the Library of Alexandria, where the Maat Foundation, through its president, Mr. Ayman Aqil, the current coordinator of the Egyptian National Network, presented its electoral program in which it is contesting the elections. To the members regarding its previous electoral program on the basis of which it was elected president of the network 2013-2015.

As the information and documents presented by Maat during the meeting confirmed that it has implemented most of the items of its electoral program that it promised in 2013, and was able to expand the network’s membership by 81%, create institutional frameworks for partnership between members, and defend the vision of the Egyptian national network in developing current and future plans. Of the Anna Lindh Foundation, as well as its success in establishing a correct image of the Anna Lindh Foundation in public opinion and among interested and concerned circles.

Maat has developed a realistic and specific electoral program for the upcoming 2015-2017 presidential term, building on these successes achieved, and adding to the network and its members.

As the axes of the Maat electoral program are centered around key frameworks, the most important of which is providing a wide space for partnership opportunities between members of the network inside and outside the scope of the Anna Lindh Foundation, facilitating partnership opportunities with members of other networks in the institution’s member states, building the capacity of member organizations through holding specialized training workshops, enhancing Members took advantage of travel and volunteer opportunities within the Anna Lindh Foundation and the national network.

The election program for Maat also addressed specific steps to build a positive and effective relationship between the members on the one hand and the relevant state institutions on the other hand, in addition to enhancing the opportunities for members to benefit from the funding provided by the Anna Lindh Foundation.
