Maat visits the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary outside

The Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights held a meeting this morning, Saturday, May 14th, with His Eminence Bishop of Qatar, Bishop of the Year of the New Valley and a delegation of fathers at the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary abroad. A variety of stakeholders and different target groups in the governorate.
Where the Foundation team explained the efforts of Maat in the field of development over the past decade, in addition to discussing the priority issues that the Foundation can work on during the coming period in the New Valley, where His Eminence the Bishop referred to the efforts made by the state to advance development in the New Valley and stressed the importance of the role of society. Civilian in supporting these efforts and caring for people first.
The “Universal Periodic Review Caravans” is an innovative package of integrated field activities through which the Maat Foundation visits a group of governorates and remote areas. The Foundation’s program includes a visit to a group of archaeological, heritage and religious areas, a meeting with a group of media professionals and leaders of civil work, in addition to a group of meetings With the residents of the governorate and the different target groups, the visit will be concluded with a massive popular conference entitled “The Universal Periodic Review, the Future of Development and Combating Terrorism in the New Valley Governorate”, with the aim of presenting the results of the visit.
The convoy comes within the framework of the Foundation's interest in helping the Egyptian state to fulfill its voluntary commitments to the universal periodic review mechanism, and out of its keenness to integrate the most marginalized areas in the efforts that focus on the universal periodic review as an entry point for improving public policies and achieving human development in its comprehensive sense.
The Foundation is expected to issue a comprehensive report on the visit and its activities after the end of the convoy, which will continue its activities between May 13-16, 2016.
