In the context of its readiness to implement the "comprehensive periodic review as a tool for improving public policies during the transitional period"

Which is implemented by Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights with funding from the European Union The Foundation holds the first meeting of the project steering committee on Wednesday 20 January 2016.

Ayman Aqeel, President of the Foundation, confirmed that the steering committee will, during the project period, provide suggestions and advice, evaluate the project, evaluate the achievement of the objectives and desired results of the project, and see and participate in all project activities, and the meetings will continue in an organized manner.

It is worth noting that this committee will include an elite group of experts and those interested in human rights and the comprehensive periodic review mechanism. They are the stakeholders of parliament representatives, jurists, journalists, bloggers, and officials of civil society organizations.

Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights is an Egyptian non-governmental organization registered in accordance with the Associations and Institutions Law No. 84 of 2002 with the Ministry of Social Solidarity under the Declaration No. 3166 for the year 2008 amended No. 7829 for the year 2010, and the Foundation currently holds the presidency of the Egyptian national network of the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures.
