In what is considered the first application of its kind in Egypt and the Arab region, the Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights has released an electronic application for smartphones running the “Android” or IOS operating systems, which is an application The Universal Periodic Review Known as "UPR".

The application, which targets media professionals, civil society cadres, researchers and other stakeholders, comes within the framework of a projectThe Universal Periodic Review as a Tool to Improve Public Policies during the Transition Period, It is implemented by Maat with funding from the European Union from January 2016 until the end of December 2017.

This application - which can be downloaded free of charge - provides all the information related to the UPR mechanism, and includes the classification of recommendations submitted to Egypt during its submission to the UPR 2014 under 25 main categories, as the application followers are informed daily with all topics and developments related to the recommendations and pledges accepted by Egypt Thus, enabling them to monitor progress in implementing these recommendations and pledges, and they are also provided with all information and daily updates related to the universal periodic review mechanism, and international mechanisms for the protection of human rights in general.

It is worth noting that the application was designed to occupy a very limited space on the memory of the user's phone device, as the size of the application does not exceed 4 MB
