Aqeel: Representatives' statements about the crisis of electronic voting lead to a shake of the citizen's confidence in the parliament

Within the framework of the interest of the Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights, which has an advisory status in the Council of Economic and Social Rights of the United Nations, to follow up the performance of the House of Representatives, and in light of the ongoing debate within the corridors of the House of Representatives and among experts about the approval of the internal regulations and its amendments, the Maat Foundation calls on Parliament to quickly form the qualitative committees within the Council with Increasing their number to match the size of the repercussions and the changes taking place in the Egyptian society

The Foundation also calls on the representatives to establish a committee specialized in reviewing Egypt's pledges before the Human Rights Council in Geneva, with the aim of assisting and following up the Egyptian state in implementing its obligations before the Human Rights Council.

The Foundation also proposes to the Egyptian Parliament to establish a committee for Egyptian-African relations with the aim of supporting cultural and economic exchange, in order to match that with the preamble of the constitution, which stipulated that “…. It is the head of Africa overlooking the Mediterranean, and the mouth of its greatest river: the Nile, ”and also the first article of the constitution which states that Egypt“ ... belongs to the African continent, is proud of its Asian expansion, and contributes to building human civilization. ” And here are the articles that explicitly state that Egypt is African geographically, with the aim of supporting the state in preserving its national security and preserving one of the most important arteries of Egyptian daily life.

The Maat Foundation for Peace and Development also calls for the Council to approve the separation of the Tourism and Information Committee in order to facilitate the work of each committee on my own to what tourism represents to Egypt as a main source of income to maintain foreign monetary reserves, and on the other hand to reduce the unemployment rate, especially in jobs related to tourism.

Ayman Aqil, head of Maat Foundation for Peace, Tamat and Human Rights, stated that an increase in the number of specific committees within the council will inevitably lead to the speedy completion of the approval of draft laws that the Egyptian state needs to match the constitutional articles in force according to the 2014 constitution, as well as with Egypt's international agreements, treaties and commitments.

Aqeel also stated that it is not reasonable that after the merger of the People's Assembly and the Shura Council in the House of Representatives, the committees remain in their old formation and previous method of work, and the deputies demanded the speedy completion of the approval of the executive regulations of the Council so that they can devote themselves to the supervisory and legislative roles entrusted to them.

In a related context, Aqeel called on the House of Representatives to issue an explanation about some of the news that some Sunnah websites have dealt with, which acknowledge that there are problems in electronic voting, which may lead to a change in the will of the representatives and thus lead to the undermining of the confidence of the Egyptian citizen in the House of Representatives.
