Maat opens the theater performance "Have a Dialogue With Me…Thank You" in Alexandria

In the context of its capacity as the Head of Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation in Egypt, Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights opened the theater performance entitled "Have a Dialogue With Me…Thank You" on Monday, 15 December 2014 at the Hellenic Cultural Foundation, Alexandria.
The play is considered a part of the Egyptian network activity 2014, a campaign entitled "Try to Dialogue" implemented by MAAT Foundation and generously supported by the Anna Lindh Foundation for the Dialogue Between Cultures, the campaign seeks to enable the audience to recognize the dialogue tools, skills and concepts, along with how to differentiate between dialogue, discussion, conflict and related concept, and promoting and disseminating the culture of dialogue in a simplified, artistic and attractive way.
The campaign composed a group of integrated and linked activities that sought to achieve the campaign objectives through targeting diversified beneficiaries including NGOs cadres, youth, women, children and the community at large from different cultural and educational backgrounds.
The play adopted an interactive approach with the audience, where an open discussion with the spectators was launched on a group of sketches that sought to establish the culture of dialogue in the Egyptian community, along with utilizing the art and its enlightening and developmental role to serve one of the most crucial issues the Egyptian community goes through at the moment, apart from the traditional theater and the audience as recipients only, where the play involved the audience in commenting on different life situations that were presented during the play.
The performance was directed by Mr. Sabry Sleem, about a white collar whom usually stubborn and ignoring to the others opinion via a group of situations where the hero deals with his work collogues, family, and regular people in the street.
In the end, the play highlighted the importance of dialogue, listening to the other, accepting the opposing opinions, and calling to adopt the "Have a Dialogue With Me…Thank You" as a principle in our daily life.
