Maat for Peace confirmed that The human rights situation of women and girls in #Afghanistan has alarmingly exacerbated. Hundreds of women human rights defenders and other protesters have been subjected to break-ins, threats, abductions, enforced disappearances, attacks with electrical devices and chemical sprays, as a result of their objection to women-related resolutions issued by Taliban movement last May.
In this regard, Maat for Peace stresses that all parties in Afghanistan should abide by International human rights obligations and guarantee women and girls’ rights, including right to health, education, among others, in addition to respecting cultural diversity and ensuring fundamental freedom for all Afghani citizens without discrimination.
