Maat: The International Alliance for Peace and Development will call on the United Nations to adopt a binding agreement against terrorism

The Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights mourns the martyrs of national duty among the brave policemen who shed their blood during their pre-emptive security operation on Friday, October 20, 2017, to raid a terrorist cell that was taking in the oasis desert as its home, and the Foundation wishes a speedy recovery for the injured in the operation.

The latest operation adds new evidence that the black terrorism facing Egypt is the biggest challenge to respect for human rights, foremost among which is the right to life, the right to security and the right to development, and it also proves beyond a reasonable doubt that the terrorist organizations operating in Egypt are just tools that implement agendas and plans. Behind it stand regional, political and international powers and interests.

 As some countries and ruling regimes in the region are still exploiting the weakness of the international system and its tolerance of the threat of terrorism and its inability to adopt deterrent measures and adopt binding agreements and decisions, and these countries and regimes provide political and financial support and provide media platforms and safe havens for the perpetrators and supporters of these crimes.

The Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights and based on its awareness of the danger of the phenomenon of terrorism to world peace and development efforts in the world, it took the initiative to call for the establishment of the International Alliance for Peace and Development, to which a large number of major NGOs in the Arab region, Europe, Africa and the United States responded, After its official establishment at the beginning of next year, the coalition will work with all force towards calling on the international system to adopt a comprehensive agreement to combat and criminalize all forms of terrorism and support it.
