Maat mourns the nation’s martyrs and calls on the international community to rally in the face of terrorism
Aqeel: We call on states not to allow their lands to be used for training terrorist elements or to support them financially and logistically to stop these operations

The Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights mourns the honorable martyrs of the homeland, the victim of that terrorist operation that took place in Al-Arish yesterday morning, and as the Maat Foundation sees that despite the progress Egypt is making in implementing the roadmap that it promised, it has already completed it. There is an elected parliament that assumes the task of legislation. The institution sees hands trying with all power to stop the Egyptian progress by carrying out terrorist operations targeting the Egyptian people.
Maat also affirms that, in the framework of its new project, the universal periodic review as a tool to improve public policies, through which the Foundation tries to assess the extent of the state’s commitment to its international obligations, and it is the method and approach that the Foundation follows in the context of its belief in respecting human rights, but within the framework of a participatory relationship. Between the Egyptian government, civil society institutions and donors without accusation or betrayal, and also without detracting from the role of each party, Maat Foundation confirms that it stands seriously in the face of any violation of human rights, but at the same time it stands against those malicious hands that are trying to overthrow the Egyptian state in a trap Black terror.
Ayman Aqil, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Maat Foundation, confirmed his previous announcement that the international community must stand together to confront this terrorism that does not target Egypt only, but the whole world and appealed to states not to allow their lands to be used for training those terrorist elements. Or support them financially or logistically to stop those terrorist operations around the world so that we can save innocent lives from killing.
Aqeel also called on all those concerned with working in civil society to work for the advancement of Egypt, by legitimate means within the framework of what the law regulates, under the umbrella of joint cooperation between it and the Egyptian state without the complacency or exaggeration of the government within the framework of the civil society’s endeavor to balance between following up the government's performance in Raise the level of human rights and support the state in facing terrorism.
