Maat keeps receiving the testimonies during the 1st day of the 2nd round of the presidential elections, the 2nd statement

The voting process continues on the 1st day of the 2nd round of the presidential elections between Dr. Mohammed Morsi and General. Ahmed shafiq, starting today's morning (June 16) and ending tomorrow's evening (June 17) 2012. The preliminary evidence and the testimonies provided by the popular committees' members on the ground to Maat operation room indicate the fact that the hot weather contributed significantly in keeping the turnout rating in a medium level, still, the turnout at certain places is rather higher than it's similar during the 1st round. The following are the most important testimonies received by Maat operation room between 12.00 pm till the issuance of this statement: • Qous center _ the Martyr School of Hardia; the mayor of the village was reportedly distributing LE 100 per voter to vote for the candidate Ahmed Shafiq. • Some monitors reported that some thugs were distributing drugs + LE 50 on some voters away from the polling stations as an electoral bribe. • Al-Mo'sassa polling station of Hegaza _ Qous; there exist cars to deliver the supporters of candidate Mohamed Morsi, some reported using the rotating ballot paper. • Building a booth at Al-Zalkanoun village, El-Zagazig center, Al-Sharqiya governorate by the Muslim Brotherhood to collect IDs' copies for LE 100 per one. • Scuffles and quarrels between the supporters of candidate Mohammed morsi and members of the previous National Democratic Party at Atef El-Sadat polling station, Meet Abo El-Koum, El Menoufia governorate. • Sahel El Gawayer polling station, El-Menoufia governorate; we received testimonies about some youth trying to inter the voters queue to encourage the voters to vote for candidate Mohammed Morsi by saying; "choose Islam, choose your religion, don’t choose the murders and previous regime figures", those young people were arrested by the police. • Qalyubia governorate, Toukh center, Al-Shaheed Mohammed Abd El-Hameed Hassan Experimental School (the ladies polling stations); poor turnout till the moment. • Qalyubia governorate, Toukh center, El Saha Elementary School (polling stations no. 70/69 gentlemen); was closed for prayer from 2:10 to 2:30. A substantial presence for the supporters of candidate Mohamed Morsi in the surrounding streets to direct the voters under a sign entitled "don’t vote for the previous regime figures" – some of previous candidate Hamdeen Sabahi supporters are existed and trying to encourage voters not to vote for candidate Ahmed Shafq - the judge moved to the ground floor to help an elder man whose incapable of ascension to the polling station to vote, the polling station was put on hold for 3 minutes till the return of the judge – unstamped ballots.
