Walaa Jad Al-Karim: We need to design efficient and effective youth initiatives related to peace and security

Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights continued the activities of the project “Strengthening the role of youth in peace and security in the southern Mediterranean,” in the presence of development expert Walaa Jad Al-Karim, who spoke in the session about how to plan for the work of community-based initiatives related to peace and security in the target countries, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.

“Young people need to design initiatives related to peace and security. These proposed initiatives are systematic, have a specific time period, and are unique and distinct from other initiatives,” he said.

He added: “Initiatives must be commensurate with the volume of work within them, and their management should be both economically efficient and effective. A distinction must also be made between the general objectives and the specific objectives of these initiatives.

It is worth noting that the Peacemakers Forum comes within the framework of the project implemented by the Maat Foundation, in cooperation with the North and South Center of the Council of Europe within the framework of the Third South Program funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe.
