Maat and the Egyptian comics announce the winners of the "UPR Feather" competition

Jeissa: We have received more than 300 works by more than 80 Egyptian and Arab artists, Gomaa and Hegazy are participating on the sidelines of the exhibition, and awards are distributed during the opening ceremony.

aYesterday evening, the jury met, headed by the artist. Yasser Jeisa, and the membership of each of the artist. Samir Abdelghani, and the artist. Fawzi Morsi to sort the artworks submitted to the “UPR Feather” cartoon competition and exhibition, which was launched last September, where the competition organized by Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights aimed to cooperate with the Egyptian Cartoon Society to encourage artists to shed light on a range of human rights issues that the Egyptian government pledged to By working to solve it during the second cycle of the UPR 2014.

The competition has met with great success among cartoonists at the national and international levels, and has received more than 250 works of art from more than 50 Egyptian artists, in addition to more than 50 works of art from 30 international artists.

The tripartite committee meeting resulted in selecting the winners of the first five places, they are awarded the Maat Honoring Shield in addition to financial prizes arranged as follows:

  1. the artist. Khader Hassan, first place winner
  2. The artist. Marwa Ibrahim, second place winner
  3. the artist. Khaled Salah, the third place winner
  4. The artist. Raghda Hegazy. Fourth place winner
  5. the artist. Tharwat Mortada, fifth place winner

The jury also selected the winners of the places from the sixth to the tenth, to be awarded a shield of honor to Maat, their arrangement is as follows:

  1. the artist. Mustafa Al Sheikh, the sixth place winner
  2. The artist. Amina Kamel, the winner of the seventh place
  3. the artist. Saeed Badawi, eighth place winner
  4. the artist. Mohamed Ismail, the ninth place winner
  5. the artist. Jamal Nour, the tenth place winner

The jury also decided to award a certificate of participation to honor all eligible works submitted to the competition.

It is worth noting that all the winning works in addition to the qualified works selected by the jury for non-winners will be presented to the public through an exhibition that will last for two days and will be organized in the exhibition of the Falaki Theater, the building of the American University in Cairo, located at 47 Falaki St., Downtown Cairo, on 29-30 October 2017, the opening ceremony of the exhibition will also witness the honoring of the winning and eligible artworks.
