The Parliamentary Elections Observatory issues the fifth report to monitor violence and terrorism and its relationship to the elections. Increased indiscriminate detonation attempts by 50% compared to last week 79% of incidents targeting civilian installations and public facilities

Within the framework of the Egyptian 2015 Parliamentary Election Observatory of the "Joint International Local Mission", the fifth report was issued to monitor violence and terrorism and their implications related to the electoral process during the period from February 31 to February 5, 2015, during which period directly coordinated the opening of candidacy for elections.
The report monitored 87 cases of violence, an increase of 50% over the number of cases last week. Targeting citizens and their whereabouts has gained the largest share of violent incidents and explosions witnessed in the various Egyptian governorates, as their share of cases was 79%, and the targeting of police and military facilities was nearly 21%. .
With regard to the geographical distribution of violence incidents, it expanded to include 19 governorates compared to 18 governorates last week.
• The targeting of the officers of the Egyptian armed forces and police significantly this week, where their share was about 21 violence incidents from the total 91 violence incidents, by almost 23%.
1- The escalation of indiscriminate bombing attempts with the approaching electoral process, as the facts this week increased to 87 cases compared to 58 cases last week, with an increase of 50 %, which clearly reveals the features of the movements whose ultimate goal is to thwart the electoral process by creating a climate of fear and panic and reducing Confidence in the ability of the competent authorities to secure the electoral process.
2- An increase in the number of cases of focus on civilian facilities, public facilities and places where citizens gather, with a number of 69 cases, an increase of 68% over targeting the same targets in the previous week, and approximately equivalent to 80% of the total cases of violence during this week, which clearly reveals that these events are directed towards citizens in a way. Fundamental, as it reveals its correlation with the electoral process.
3- The rates of targeting public facilities and services increased by 27 cases, which indicates that the groups behind the bombings sought to paralyze the services provided to citizens.
4- The expansion of the geographical scope of the violence incidents to cover 19 governorates, with a significant and noticeable increase in cases in the governorates of Sharkia and Cairo, in addition to the return of North Sinai to occupy an advanced position on the map of the governorates that witness the activities of the groups behind the bombings and indiscriminate incidents of violence.
5- The continued targeting of judicial facilities, but at lower rates than last week (1 case compared to 5 cases last week).
