In the culmination of a long cooperation between the two parties, the Maat Foundation signed

 For Peace, Development and Human Rights (Egypt) and Al-Hayat Center for Civil Society Development (Jordan) a joint cooperation protocol within the framework of the procedures for establishing the International Alliance for Peace and Development, which was signed by Maat Foundation, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Professor Ayman Aqil, and Dr. Amer bin Amer, Director General, for the Life Center

Ayman Aqil, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Maat Foundation, stated that the accession of the Life Center to the group of founders of the alliance is a big step and an important event, and pointed out that the Hayat Center is one of the most important organizations working in the field of democracy support in the Arab region, and it includes a group of distinguished cadres, experts and researchers under the leadership of Activist and great Arab expert Amer bin Amer.

For his part, Dr. Amer bin Amer expressed his happiness at his presence in Cairo and the Al Hayat Center joining the founders' group to the alliance, and said that the center was established since 2006 with the efforts of a group of young activists Jordanian civilians aims to strengthen democracy and public participation in Jordan Within the framework of the principles of democracy, human rights and sovereignty Law, The center is based By doing so, by raising public awareness about civic values; Such as justice, equality, freedom and participation .

The protocol signed between Maat and Al-Hayat Center stipulated the implementation of activities aimed at achieving the goals of the International Alliance for Peace and Development, which are to improve human rights conditions and confront attempts to undermine peace and processes of violence, terrorism and intimidation, and to work effectively through international, regional and national forums and mechanisms to stop the spread of those practices that oppose values. Humanitarianism and threatening world peace, and calling for improvement of public policies related to supporting peace and countering violence, terrorism and extremism

  It is worth noting that the Maat Foundation called for the establishment of the International Alliance for Peace and Development in September 2017, and a large group of Arab, European and African organizations responded to this call, and the alliance stems from the ground of the moral responsibility of civil society organizations in peacemaking, and the human rights values agreed upon by the world since 1948 and included The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and it is expected to announce the official establishment of the coalition in the first quarter of 2018.
