Within a series of its participation in the work of the 41st session of the Human Rights Council, and during a session to discuss Item 3 related to the report of the Working Group on the issue of discrimination against women in law and practice, Maat Foundation presented an intervention on the discrimination practiced by the Qatari and Iranian regime against women, and the intervention made clear that despite the images it is trying The system in both Qatar and Iran presented it to the world that women enjoy their rights to education and work, and have reached advanced degrees in economic and political empowerment, but the reality does not reflect this, so Qatari women are still unable to confer their nationality on their children, in addition to inequality and clear discrimination at the social level. As an incomplete citizen.

The Foundation also pointed out that Iranian women suffer from violence and discrimination as a result of the inferior view of them on the part of all official bodies in the state, which is reinforced by their declining status in Iranian culture. Iranian society considers women a second-class citizen, in terms of political, social and economic rights and duties, and there is an exaggeration in restrictions on women and girls, especially in light of the imposition of compulsory hijab on them in public places and considering that removing it is a crime that is punished with the most severe penalties.

For her part, Hajar Moncef, Director of the Foundation's Sustainable Development Unit, said that despite the legislations and laws that guarantee the rights of women in both the emirate of Qatar and Iran, the actual practices in Iranian and Qatari reality had a different opinion, as we find that all of these rights are approved by the constitution and other legislation Whether in Qatar or Iran, they are nothing but ink on paper.
