Representatives of youth civil society organizations meet with members of the German Federal Council in an open meeting

For the second day in a row, the Egyptian delegation of NGO youth continues its program in Berlin, where it met today with the president and members of the German Federal Youth Council in an open meeting in which they were exposed to all the important issues concerning youth in the two countries.

At the beginning, Mr. Sevin Fry, head of the German Federal Youth Council, welcomed the Egyptian delegation, stressing the importance of this visit for the council, especially in light of the changes that have occurred in Egypt over the past twelve months and since the latter’s visit to Egypt last November and added that the three months The past was full of many events about Egypt in light of various media coverage. It was difficult for the German Youth Council to find out what is going on specifically on the Egyptian political arena and its effects on youth work and its different participation in all fields. The meeting started with the invitation of the engineer / Ahmed Nabil, head of the Youth Dialogue Association for Culture and head of the Egyptian delegation to talk about the current situation of youth in Egypt, especially after the recent political changes, as Nabil stressed the need for real links between Egyptian civil society and the government, as is the case in Germany, where both parties work for the benefit of The other is aimed at developing youth competencies and integrating them into decision-making, while in Egypt the situation requires a lot of time and effort to take into account that civil society has a major role in the development process, which has been improved. Egypt is witnessing it in the coming period, hoping that cooperation between Egypt and Germany will continue, especially in the fields of youth exchange, which will directly benefit Egyptian youth through the successful experiences of German youth, especially in the political, social and cultural fields.

Mr. Haitham Kamel, a member of the Board of Directors of the General Union of Youth Associations, added that the period that elapsed after the January 25 revolution and what followed it on the 30th of last June was the expected opportunity for Egyptian youth to say his word, whose matters still need a great development, reminding what happened in Germany after The Second World War and the following strong motives for the Germans to advance their country, which made them one of the most advanced peoples in the world. Supporting youth and integrating them into political life and organized party work, and encouraging the idea of decentralization.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Sven Fry called on the participants to complete this useful conversation in the presence of the council’s general assembly, which is scheduled to be held on the 26th of October in the German city of Magdeburg, with the honorary presence of the members of the Egyptian delegation.
