During the launching conference of the Peace Makers and Development Forum, which was held in cooperation between the Maat Foundation for Peace and the International Alliance for Peace and Development, 12 young people from different countries spoke about the role of youth in achieving safe and secure societies and among these young people Farah Azel, coordinator of the Forum of Peace Makers and Development in Morocco, Kretsan Kilonzo, Coordinator Forum in Kenya

Farah Azil stated that she is trying to support the achievement of Goal 16 of the Sustainable Development Goals through more than one axis, on top of which is the attempt to bridge the gap between all African youth through art and sport, and encourage Arab and African women to dream and work hard for what they believe in through Providing them with the assistance and guidance they need to implement their development projects. She also added that she knows that achieving "peace" is a matter that needs great effort and cooperation between the various stakeholders. Therefore, she called on all parties to integrate young people, to benefit from their energy and ideas, and to consider with interest their development initiative that will be implemented in cooperation with the International Alliance for Peace and Development.

As for Christian Kilonzo, Coordinator of the Peace Makers and Development Forum in Kenya, he talked about the future negative effects of youth marginalization, as tomorrow's leaders will come to power without experience, practical skills, or an understanding of how to improve the lives and economies of the societies they lead. Which constitutes a real threat to the future of countries, and then he stated that this is his main motivation to join the Peace Makers and Development Forum, which supports building the capacities of young people from different countries of the world and gives them the opportunity to innovate and work on the ground by implementing development initiatives based on youth visions to achieve development goals Sustainable, whether at the national, regional or international level.

In her speech during the inauguration of the Peacemakers Forum, Esma Benbulirabeh said; A French activist, she will work through the forum to support activists and organizations aiming to highlight the condemnation of violence against women and girls.

The coordinator of the Forum for Peace Makers and Development in France said that there is a need to ensure support for the sustainability of human rights organizations working in the field of combating violence against women, in order to serve the fifth goal of the sustainable development goals On gender equality, and the sixteenth goal on peace and justice.

While Abdel Fattah Maatouk from Libya stated that there is a great dilemma to harness all capabilities to advance the young Arab mind and invest the capabilities of young people to create real sustainable development, stressing that achieving this needs to emphasize the achievement of the goals of Goal 16, with real empowerment of youth as they are the most influential group And affected.

In his speech, Maatouk announced that the forum will adopt the establishment of a youth observatory that works to monitor terrorism and violence in the Arab region, and to issue analyzes and predictions about the extent of development in extremist ideology.

It is worth noting that the Peacebuilding and Development Forum is one of the mechanisms of the International Peace and Development Alliance in Geneva. It aims to contribute to silencing the sounds of guns and bullets and to achieve sustainable development goals by mobilizing youth efforts from African, Asian, European and Arab countries. It was launched on the sidelines of the Arab Week for Sustainable Development.
