A large group of journalists, media professionals, representatives of some foreign embassies, civil society organizations and public figures participated in the conference. Members of the coalition delegation who participated in the 34th session also spoke at the conference, namely Mr. Ayman Aqil, President of Maat Foundation for Peace, Development, Human Rights and Coordinator of the Alliance, and Dr. Walaa Jad Al-Karim Secretary-General of the Partners for Transparency Foundation and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Alliance, Dr.May Al-Talawi, President of the Egyptian Leadership Foundation, a member of the Alliance, and Mrs. Fatima Othman, in charge of the UPR file at the Maat Foundation, and Ms. Mirna Zaki, the researcher and coordinator of the Alliance.

Ayman Aqil, head of Maat Foundation and the coordinator of the coalition, stated that the conference comes from the coalition’s keenness to fully transparency in presenting the results of the visit, especially as it focused on assessing the human rights situation in Egypt, and included in-depth discussions with international parties and UN officials, while Walaa Jad Al-Karim said that there is There is a big difference between the required communication with the international mechanisms and the bullying abroad, calling for an end to the fallacies related to this matter.

During the conference, all the interviews and activities held by the coalition delegation in Geneva were presented and a comprehensive summary of the results of each meeting, the most important points that were addressed, and the most important observations made by international officials who met with the coalition delegation, and some aspects of the report on the assessment of the human rights situation in Egypt were presented. Ayman Akil presented the recommendations and messages sent by the coalition to all stakeholders in the Egyptian government, civil society, the international community, and UN officials, the most important of which was the need for parliament to make a greater legislative effort to fulfill the recommendations of the UPR, and the need for the government to understand that civil society is a partner in development. Aqeel called on civil society the importance of unity and belief in the value of dialogue with state agencies as the only way to respect human rights. He also called on the international community to support the issues of economic and social rights and combating terrorism.
