Aqeel: Maat will hold two seminars during the second week of the council<\/span><\/h3>\n

After the end of the first week of the work of the 42nd session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, the Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights issued a statement about the most prominent discussions in the Council, in addition to a presentation of the most prominent activities of the institution during the first week of the session, as well as future activities during the second week.<\/p>\n

Ayman Aqil, President of Maat Foundation, indicated that the High Commissioner for Human Rights presented in her reports the human rights situation in several countries, including the human rights situation in Yemen, Palestine, Venezuela and Kashmir. The Commission also presented the report of the expert committee regarding the situation in Yemen. Aqeel added that the council\u2019s work during the first week included statements by high-level representatives, including the Pakistani foreign minister, following the recent events in Kashmir. Ms. Michelle Bachelet also spoke about the situation in Syria.<\/p>\n

Aqeel explained that on the sidelines of the session, international missions held informal consultations on draft decisions submitted to the council at its current session, including the draft resolution related to acts of intimidation and intimidation, and the project on extending the mandate of the Working Group on Arbitrary Detention. Aqeel explained that the activities of the Maat Foundation are continuing and that we will hold two seminars during the second week of the Council\u2019s work.<\/p>\n

Mennat Allah added that the Maat Foundation completes its meetings in the second week, and begins its activities by holding two side events, the first on Monday, September 16, from 4 to 5 in the afternoon in Hall No. XXIV of the Human Rights Council in the Palais des Nations in Geneva, entitled \u201cHuman Rights in Yemen\u201d, with the participation of Mr. Murad Al-Gharati from the International Alliance for Peace and Development, and Ms. Noura Al-Jarwi from the Women's Peace Alliance in Yemen.<\/p>\n
