Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights organized yesterday the first Philanthropy Day for the families and children of the project \"Integrated Protection of the Families of Prisoners and Detainees \u2013Integration and Rehabilitation\" at Imbaba and Boulaq
\nThe Philanthropy Day celebration comes within the context of the project activities implemented by Maat Foundation in collaboration with the Swiss Foundation Drosos in Cairo and Giza districts .
\nIt is worth mentioning that the \"Integrated Protection for the Families of Prisoners and Detainees - Integration and Rehabilitation\" Project is implemented Cairo and Giza governorates at: \"Dar ElSalaam and Basateen, Helwan and Maasara, AlKhalifa, Imbaba, Bulaq Dakrour and Atfeeeh\".
\nThe project seeks to improve access for the families of prisoners and detainees of their economic and social development through improving the economic situation of the families of prisoners and detainees in the targeted areas, and provide mechanisms to improve educational conditions for the children of the families of prisoners and detainees and to enable them to integrate into the community, and provide mechanisms for settling family disputes and provide social counseling and legal assistance for the families of prisoners and detainees.
\nThe implementation of a Philanthropy Day for each of the project targeted areas aims to increase and stimulate voluntary social contributions directed to help the children of the families of prisoners and detainees and work to integrate them into the local community.
\nThe celebration included a number of artistic performances, contributions of the families and success stories display for Imbaba and Boulaq Dakrour areas.
\nThe first Philanthropy Day was attended by a number of civil society institutions such as the Swiss Foundation Drosos; For You Association; and governmental administrations representatives including the NGOs Administration at the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Social Solidarity; and a number of natural and governmental leaders from Imbaba and Boulaq Dakrour .
\nThe day witnessed heavy presence from children and women in the targeted families and reached 200 members.
\nThe day also included a number of artistic performances such as: \"No More Talking\" show to induce a sense of belonging and pride in the personalities of the Egyptian prominent figures such as Dr. Ahmed Zewail and Naguib Mahfouz.
\nThe families children also presented a play entitled \"Question Mark\" defended by which their right to dream, regardless the obstacles and conditions. And not to give up in the face of obstacles and challenges that led to frustration, and prevent responding to the calls of illegal immigration and work to capitalize on their skills and resources and their communities opportunities.
\nIn the framework of the keenness of Maat on the process of integration of the project children and families with natural families, the project team organized an entertainment show for all children and families including: (custom Muppets Basant and Diasty, Smurfs, and Super Man) which pleased and everyone from natural families and families of prisoners and detainees .
\nThe Philanthropy Day organization witnessed very esteemed efforts from the project volunteers, as well as contributions from the civil society and the private sector including: (Mobinil; Nahdet Misr Group; Resala Association; Take an Initiative Association for Social Development; Abbasia Association for Shariaa). They offered contributions to the families represented in new clothes such as: \"Scarfs; T shirts; baby cloth; books; Stationery) as well as additional meals for families and children., and brushes and colors to draw on the face.
\nAt the end, Maat for Peace and Development and human rights calls all members of the community to cooperate during the next Philanthropy Day planned to be implemented at Dar ElSalaam, Basateen and Khalifa to the introduction of joy and happiness to the children and women of those families .<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
